You can pick up your shooter packets at the Griffin Gun Clubhouse between 8:00AM – 4:00PM, Thursday, April 8, 2010; and again at 7:00AM, Friday, April 9,2010.

State Black Powder Championship - Thursday

A 5 Stage SASS sanctioned State Black Powder Championship Match Thursdaymorning. A mandatory safety briefing will be held at 9:30AM and shooting willbegin at 10:00AM.

Side Matches
Side matches will be open on Thursday, April 8th from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The cost for side matches is $20.00for all day. Awards will be based on fastest time and be given for for Winnersonly.

The schedule will allow all who wish to, to shoot all of the side matches, theBlack Powder Championship Match and the Main Match.

Couples & Team Side Matches
There will be a couples side match on Friday, April 9th, after the main match and prior to the BBQ. On Saturday, there will be a Team Side Match after the main match and prior to the OutbackSteakhouse Dinner. The rules for these special matches will be in the MatchBooklet in your shooter packets.

Mikle Kirkpatrick is a big fan of helping out the kids in our sport. Here is the rig Mike sent. He built this Himself, and added $280 worth of Montana Silversmith's conchos. The rig is valued at $920.

This is the first such rig he has made and you can see it is special!

8:00 AM - Welcome ceremony and mandatory safety briefing. Shooting startsafter the meeting.

BBQ Dinner on the range approximately 6 PM Friday.

Shooting will start at 8 AM Saturday morning.

Outback Dinner and entertainment at clubhouse approx 6:00 pm

Brass Pick-up
This is a lost brass match. This year, the youth shooting team from SpauldingCounty will be on hand to pick up brass. All the brass has been sold and thefunds will go to charity!

Round Count?
What's the round count, you ask?

For the SASS sanctioned State Black Powder Championship Match, you will need aminimum of 50 revolver rounds, 50 rifle rounds and 20 shotgun shells. See BP Stage Designs Here
For the SASS Georgia State Championship Main Match, you will need a minimum of100 revolver rounds, 100 rifle rounds and 40 shotgun shells.   See Stage Designs here
For those who plan to participate in shooting the many side matches and Top GunShoot Off, bring plenty of ammunition for the various firearms you plan toshoot.

What about the stages we're going to shoot, you ask?

Shooters will be shooting some large and up close targets. Heck, our usualpistol targets are 16x24 inches and the smallest non-bonus rifle targets are16x16 inches. Additionally, for those shooters that want to get an early lookat the stages, as soon as the stages receive final approval we're going to postthe stages as PDF documents right here on the website. There will be separatefiles for the SASS Georgia State Black Powder Championship as well as the SASSGeorgia State Championship Main Match.

Categories
The SASS Georgia State Championship “The Ride of the Immortals” will recognize all SASS Categories; however, any category at least three shooters sign up for will also be recognized with awards. For those with their “I wish it was a SASS Category” style of shooting (within reason), this is your big chance to do so at a StateMatch, and, if you have a few pards that want to shoot that style as well, getan award for doing so. For you pards, like that bunch of “Outlaw” shooters inTennessee that tried to corrupt my morals at the Tennessee State Match, thatalways wanted to shoot Black Powder Gunfighter, Senior Gunfighter, Outlaw, PaleRider, Modern diehards, etc. this is your big chance.

Food & Entertainment
Breakfast and Lunch
Lunch will be available on the grounds Thurs, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Inaddition to other food vendors, The Griffin Gun Club will provide breakfast andlunch items during this time.

Friday BBQ
Friday evening there will be a BBQ on the Range, the cost is included in yourMain Match shoot fee. Extra tickets for non-shooters can be purchased for $10 each.

Saturday Night Banquet
Please join us this year for the Saturday Night Dinner to be held at theGriffin Gun Club “clubhouse. It is sponsored by Outback Steakhouse who will bethere cooking on site. Entertainment to be provided by Tom and Gloria Kerlinincluding “Lowboy Karaoke”, line dancing by Dancin’ Duelist and Potshot Parker.All tickets are $10.00 for the full evening of food, fun and surprises - tickets must be purchased in advance.

Costume Contest
This year we will be appointing a committee to judge the best dressed cowboy,cowgirl, junior boy and junior girl throughout the match and including theSaturday night dinner. Winners to be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday.

Cowboy Church
Sunday will feature our annual Cowboy Church. Stay up for the fun Saturdaynight but get up early and attend church. The attendance has grown each yearand we look for this one to be the largest yet.

Thewebsite includes a direct link to vendor cost information and the Vendor Application. We can not accept applications on line, but you will be able to print out thecorrect 2010 Match or Vendor application, complete it and mail it in. You don'twant to miss this quality, fun, challenging and exciting match, so, as EasyRider always says, get your applications filled out and sent in early andoften.

If you have a school scheduling conflict with the 2010 Georgia SASS State Matchwith the main match held on Friday and Saturday, please contact us. We willwork with you to make arrangements on a case by case basis to assist all inshooting this year's State Match.

Also any folks that may have other special needs can also contact us to discussthose needs and DHI will make every effort possible to assist so all theCowboys and Cowgirls can enjoy the 2010 Georgia SASS State Match.
